Will My Symptoms Go Away After Being Treated for H Pylori?

by Chris

hi I have been sick for 4 years now ,and my doc told me a week ago that I have h pylori. now for the 4 years I had acid reflux, lactose intolerant and gluten sensitivity, and I've lost 30 pounds.

What's confusing for me is that I had severe vomiting and diarrhea, chest pains, and abdominal pains. I've been to the hospital over 50 times (they don't really help much, they just stop the symptoms and send me home)... do all my symptoms come from the h pylori? and will I still have food allergies after h pylori?

no way to know

There is no way to know if all of your symptoms are due to H pylori. It's possible that it's the other way around and that some other health problems caused your digestive tract to become inflamed and your immune system to weaken such that you were able to be infected by H pylori!

So, while it's prudent to eliminate H pylori, there is no assurance that your symptoms will resolve because you got rid of it. The only way to find out is to get rid of it and see if that helps your symptoms. Sorry if that was not the answer that you were looking for, but the fact is that there is simply no way to know if your symptoms are due to H pylori except to get rid of your H pylori and find out.
