Sun Dried Mushrooms Are an Excellent
But Hard to Find
Source of Vegan Vitamin D2

I have been helping my 80 yr old mother improve her health. The doctor discovered she was very low in Vitamin D and recommended her take vitamin D3 but she is a vegan and she refused, and so he prescribed vitamin D 2.

We just found out from the pharmacist that although the vitamin D 2 is Vegan Vitamin D, the capsule that it comes in is Bovine and he said that he doesn't know of any vitamin D 2 that comes in vegan or vegi-caps!

Make Your own D2 and D3!
by: Kerri Knox, RN-The Immune Health Queen!

There is now an actual alternative for vegans to get Vitamin D3 from algae. It's Gargen of Life's Vegan D3 From Lichen. Vitamin D3 from lichen is really the ONLY vitamin d3 suitable for vegans, and vitamin D2 from mushrooms is not suitable for supplementation and should be avoided by vegans. Humans were intended to get Vitamin D3 and not Vitamin D2.

Assuming the answer will be the same as with Mega Food, but wondered if you had looked into Garden of Life's product...looks like its also relying on yeast, but who knows, maybe they've done studies? let me know.

Have you heard of this one?

The Food Movement's First of it's kind Vegan D3 From Lichen

Vitashine has been able to isolate D3 with lichen. It's really the only vegan Vitamin D that one should consider since it's actually vitamin D3 and the only one that is not made directly or indirectly from lanolin.
