But as far as the magnesium 'converting' your atrial fibrillation and you throwing a clot, I can't help you. Everyone's situation is different and I don't know if you are at risk for throwing a clot or not.
Whether it is safe for you to convert your rhythm or not needs to be a conversation that you have with your cardiologist and NOT something that you will be able to determine with someone on the internet.
