Vitamin d and bad breath by: Kerri Knox, RN-The Immune Health Queen!
You can have bad breath whether your Vitamin D Level is normal, low or high...
But it's unlikely that the vitamin D deficiency is the cause of your bad breath. BUT, vitamin d deficiency can contribute to the development of periodontal disease which could be causing your bad breath.
When was the last time you saw a dentist and were evaluated for periodontal disease or any other dental infections? That would be the first thing that you should look into as a cause of your bad breath.
If you DO have any dental or gum infections, then you should read Money by the Mouthful. It will show you a different perspective on how to take car of- and even HEAL your teeth and gums without surgery!!
And whether or not you have periodontal disease or not, you should get checked for the H Pylori Bacteria as it can be a major cause of bad breath and is also harbored in the gums of those with periodontal disease.
The Test for H Pylori is quick and easy and is done right in your own home- no blood draw necessary.
And be sure to get a full medical workup, as persistent bad breath COULD be a symptom of something serious.
