Vitamin B12 and Hairloss by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune System Queen
Hi Abby,
Hair loss can be from MANY causes. I appreciate that you are looking into laboratory testing in order to find the cause, however, there are many reasons for hair loss, and the cause may or may not be found in laboratory testing.
Having said that, Vitamin B12 Testing is not a great test, and the lower limits are not accepted across the board. For instance, in the US, your Vitamin B12 level would be considered normal, but in Japan, you'd have Vitamin B12 deficiency and get treatment by a medical practitioner.
Or any number of other causes for your hair loss. The fact is that you almost certainly have some sort of nutritional deficiency that you'll have to resolve by drastically increasing your nutrition and eliminating food allergies and pathogens that can prevent absorption of nutrients.
There may or may not be any tests for these issues, and you may need to drastically change your lifestyle and diet in order to resolve these issues.
