Still have symptoms after negative h pylori result

I was treated with antibiotics after a positive h pylori test. I have been tested negative by a stool sample and endoscopy. I left with chronic gastritis. However all my symptoms are still present and it has been two months after treatment. Do I need to have another test done or just wait to see if they will go away. How long before I am symptom free?

You need to retest

You need to get retested to see if the treatment actually eradicated the H pylori from your system. That you were treated is no guarantee that you actually eliminated your infection. In fact, treatment fails up to 2/3 of the time, meaning that it can fail more often than it works.

So, you should get the H Pylori Stool Test and you can test as soon as one month after your treatment. Do not get a blood test to see if treatment was effective since antibodies can stay in your blood for several months after treatment.
