Sounds good...

Hi Michael,

It would be IDEAL to get a vitamin d level for your aunt, but if that is not possible, then your plan sound good. I've answered the question about Vitamin d and rheumatoid arthritis before, so I'll refer you to my discussion of it on this Rheumatoid Arthritis and Vitamin D Page.

What I would add to the discussion there is that there is likely a much stronger connection between celiac disease (or gluten sensitivity) and RA. Take a look at the research about it on this Celiac Disease and Rheumatoid Arthritis page.

So, you are definitely on the right track with realizing that Rheumatoid Arthritis is NOT something that your aunt must suffer with forever. It is generally improved with lifestyle and nutritional factors.

Another possible remedy that you can look into is an extremely safe drug (that for some strange reason doctors don't want to use) that has been shown to help reduce symptoms in nearly all autoimmune diseases. It's called Low Dose Naltrexone and it's worth looking into- especially since she is in the early stages.

Good luck and let me know if I can help you in any other way Michael.
