Vitamin D and PCOS by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen
PCOS is short for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and many women who have it have many undesired effects from the problem including obesity, facial hair, diabetes and infertility.
But Vitamin D, believe it or not, can actually benefit PCOS sufferers. One study showed that Vitamin D significantly improved the insulin resistance that occurs with PCOS.
Another study where they treated women with a vitamin d and calcium supplement actually had major improvements in regulation of their menstrual cycles and several were able to become pregnant!
Amazing what a little Vitamin D will do for you.
HOWEVER, one thing that no one will tell you about is the connection between PCOS and IODINE deficiency. Yes, iodine! If you have PCOS and you would like a possible solution to this problem, I highly suggest that you download the amazing book by Dr. Mark Sircus called Iodine- Bringing Back the Universal Medicine and see who is using iodine for PCOS and how they are doing it!

PCOS vs PCOD by: Anonymous
There is one big mistake in the opening paragraph of this website. It says PCOS and then talks about PCOD they are two very different things? Polycistic ovarian Syndrome vs. polysitic ovarian disease. if you are going to talk about something make sure you get the distinctions right.
If you can tell me the 'distinction' that would be great... by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!
Hi,
PCOS and PCOD are different names for the same thing. If you would enlighten me on the 'distinction' between the two, that would be great because I could not find any information on any difference between them.

maybe distiction could be that one has PCO but no symptoms at all...like my self..not obesse no excessive hair growth...no diabetes...but no kids and hyper stimualted on IVF with no good eggs...
Sounds like you have symptoms to me. by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!
It sounds an awful lot like you have symptoms to me. Being infertile and not having any 'good eggs' ARE 'symptoms'.
