My H Pylori Can't Seem to be Eradicated

by Brandi
(Mississippi)

I'm a 40 year old married mother of 2 and I was first diagnosed about 5 years ago with h.pylori (though I remember in high school never being without a roll of tums). I've had every combination of antibiotics imaginable (about 8 total) and my urea numbers keep going in everytime I go back in for a breath test (this last time it was 9600).

My GI actually called me at home (we grew up together) after this last time and told be he thought I might be too much for his practice and would soon be referring me elsewhere. I don't really know what my question is except - Help?

I'm affected 24/7 with this and I'm sick of it. Have even thought of asking for a stomach transplant!

Do they do those?!

One of Two Problems
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Brandi,

I don't think that you should get a stomach transplant just yet. At least wait until you read my book The H Pylori Solution.

This is a VERY common problem that doctors just don't know how to handle because they don't look at the reasons WHY you have H pylori to begin with. So, unless you address the underlying immune system problems, then you'll never get rid of it.

The other possibility, that I doubt your doctors have addresses, is the possibility that your husband and/or your kids keep giving it back to you. Even if they don't have symptoms, if they have it too then they could keep giving it back to you and you'll never get rid of YOUR problem unless you treat them AND get your immune system problems under control.

I discuss all about how to get control of this and finally get rid of H pylori in my book The H Pylori Solution...

Therapies of salvage for Helicobacter Pylori
by: Anonymous

Studies show that the possibility of getting Helicobacter pylori from spouse or family is rather restricted. If you get reinfected (it is quite weird), then it is probably due to other reservoirs (see https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12172407).

The typical therapy for Helicobacter Pylori in case of not eradication under several tries relies on taking some samples of the bacteria and checking their reaction to different types of antibiotics. If you do not have a superbug, I guess that there are still some chances for you. Following that, the bacteria should be killed.

Unfortunately, this answer is only based on my personal experience. I am not a doctor.
