Magnesium and Tendonitis

by Greg

I have read and been told to try magnesium for relief of pain associated with tendonitis in the buttocks and hamstring area. What amount should I look for? Supplement (pill form) or liquid?

Thanks,

Greg

ANSWER:

Hi Greg,

Take a look at my Magnesium Dosage page and that will give you detailed instructions on how to take magnesium.

Also, for tendonitis I recommend two things for you:

1) Get some Transdermal Magnesium Gel and rub it right into the painful tendonitis area. It can really work wonders for tendonitis pain or see the Epsom Salt Uses page to learn how to do an Epsom Salt Bath.

2) Go to my partner's website, he's the Tendonitis Expert and he's got a LOT of other great solutions to help out your tendonitis issues much better than I can.

Tendonitis/magnesium/levaquin

by Terry
(Bethesda MD)

Earlier I had written about my achilles tendonitis and the probability it was caused by taking Levaquin.

I have been stretching and icing since I finished 2 months of physical therapy. At that time the doctor noticed improvement and said it would be several more months before things were back to normal (?).

So I walked on the beach for a few hours 2 weeks ago and one of the tendons became swollen, the foot was swollen and really very sore. I have been icing it and stretching it. You responded to my first inquiry by asking if I considered taking Magnesium. Now I finally read the article on Magnesium and wonder if that would be a good idea -- with Epsom salt baths or pills or what.

I do take 1000 calcium and a multivitamin as well as lipitor, arimidex, enablex, a laxative, WHEW!

Well, this was just asking about the Magnesium.

Thanks,
Terry Fuller
