Normal Vitamin D Level is 32 - 100
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen

Hi Mike,

Yes, your Vitamin D level is EXTREMELY LOW.
I would DEFINITELY call that a SEVEREVitamin D Deficiency.

If you have an endocrinologist, then I assume that you are having some sort of medical problems already, and so with a big, "YES"- I would say that your endocrinologist should have addressed this.

Doctors who are well versed in Vitamin D treatment would suggest AGGRESSIVE treatment for this level.

By aggressive, many doctors would give a "loading dose" of several hundred thousand IU's followed by up to 10,000 IU's per day for several months.

In one study, they gave Vitamin D Deficient patients 50,000 IU's per week for 4 weeks, then 50,000 IU's monthly for one year.

This dosage DID NOT bring their levels up to the Normal Vitamin D Level of 32!

Your doctor should NOT ignore this level, nor should they use dosages less than those given in the study above that showed that that was an inadequate dose.

Your low Vitamin D blood level could very well be contributing to your medical problems.

And you should ask your doctor to have your vitamin D blood level redrawn in 3 months to see how the treatment is working.
