Can Vitamin D deficiency really cause all this?

I was just diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency. My level is 14. I have been sick almost a year with widespread non specific symptoms like chronic fatigue, muscle pain, partial loss of vision in left eye and most scary are the BAD heart palpitations and shortness of breath.
My doctor has literally checked me over completely and he said on paper I look fine. He sent me to a rheumatologist who tested my Vitamin D and they now have me on 50,000 IU a week for 12 week with retest in 9 weeks. I am praying that they are right and this will fix it.
I am 37 years old and had Hodgekins and ABVD chemo 12 years ago and have NEVER been this sick. I am amazed that a vitamin deficiency can be so devastating. SO what I am asking is can Vitamin D deficiency really cause all this?
